The Volarevic Household was founded and it is open for tourism business since 1955. Mr. Kruno Volarević, hard working and successful young man, founded the first passenger liner called The first Neretva's back in 1937. The liner was sailing daily from Metkovic to Trpanj, with stops in ports of Opuzen, Komin, Ploče and Gradac.

During 1940s Mr. Kruno meet Miss Josipa Bodulić called Josefina of Trpanj. The same year they got married and Kruno moved to Trpanj. At the end of 1942 the liner stopped operating.  In 1947 a young couple invested all thair savings and helped by the family they purcheased a house in the prestigious Villa's street in Trpanj.
Having a good sense for the people's needs  and future of tourism development in Trpanj and Peljesac Peninsula they started a vacation rooms rental business.

In first year, Josipa and  Kruno organized and accommodated about ninety guests. Accommodation were provided in their villa and neighbors houses. It was the largest group of tourists by then in Trpanj. Having sence of the tourism market demands, the family sold the villa in late 60's and built a larger facility Tavern Dubrovnik.
